Responsibilities

• Industrialization: ensure new product and equipment qualifications align with the R&D program and priorities.

Your role

To Manage Industrial Trials in accordance with the R&D roadmap along with formulations, process chart, related paperwork, recording documents and processes. To Ensure technical support and troubleshooting to all departments. Follow-up autonomously assigned projects in accordance with R&D management guidelines and decisions. Develop new products and processes and optimize current solutions in accordance with our development procedures and respecting our stage gate process. Make propositions for continuously improve our process, products, and programs.

• 1. INDUSTRIALIZATION
• Ensure new product and new equipment qualifications are in accordance with the R&D program and priorities from management
• Organize opening and closing reviews with quality, purchasing and industrial
• Build the development plan, manage milestones and timelines for projects
• Prepare all documentation for the trial formulation and process flow chart
• Validate trials with regard to chemical specifications, yields, and palatability
• Communicate to manager via trial report the conclusions
• Ensure follow-up after product validation in production (first 10 production batches)
• 2. PRODUCTION RECIPES MANAGEMENT:
• Schedule with production the trials to ensure project is on time
• Create Bill of material in ERP
• Validate and update formulas, process charts
• Modify formulas to fix temporary run-out of raw materials, ingredients, bases...
• Ensure that formulation/process will be respected
• Adapt the product & process to industrial constraints
• Provide formulas for rework
• 3. PROJECT MANAGEMENT and FORMULATION
• Manage new product implementation from the pilot phase to the Industrialization and all the way to Launch (performance, cost, time, return on investment, process capability, quality control…)
• Responsible for project execution: pilots, coatings, and tests planning; project traceability, paperwork management
• Interpret pal tests, analytical results and make projects synthesis to report to management and share during project reviews
• Coordinate the scale-up and industrialization of new products
• Take on Portfolio project as needed: be the Local point of contact for Global projects, propose action plan and provide regular updates to the team.
• Can interact with suppliers, outside parties and customers when requested.
• 4. INITIATIVES:
• To propose and lead the actions to improve the R&D organization
• To report to management about any malfunctioning into the system and take relevant short term corrective action and propose long term options.
• To constantly improve the communication system (paperwork, computers…)
• Follow up in autonomy for own R&D projects and make decisions independently on how to pursue

About you

EDUCATION/SKILLS NEEDED

• A master’s degree in food processing, food sciences and technologies or chemistry is preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree in food processing, food sciences and technologies or chemistry is required.
• 1 to 5 years’ work experience is required.
• Strong communication skills
• Strong project management skills
• Industrial environment background (production management, production optimization, process engineering) is a plus
