About the Role
Position Summary

The Procurement Manager directs the sourcing of raw materials, oversees logistics and warehousing vendors, manages both rail and truck fleet operations, and ensures compliance with import regulations. Key duties involve maintaining procurement records, preparing monthly performance and price outlooks, overseeing import procedures, and coordinating rail and truck carrier movements for strategic raw materials. The position requires strategic planning, excellent negotiation abilities, and strong relationship-building skills with suppliers and colleagues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials and logistics.
  • Manage the movement of strategic raw materials via truck and rail.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost- effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations, aiming to reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Monitor market trends, supply chain risks, price fluctuations, and geopolitical issues to optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with RCD, production, and quality teams to align procurement and logistics activities with business needs.
  • Analyze procurement data, prepare reports, and present insights to senior management.
  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to ethical standards and sustainability goals.
  • Manage and mentor junior procurement staff as needed.
About You
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, Business Administration, or a related field. HS Diploma is acceptable along with 10 plus years work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement / purchasing / supply chain / logistics.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with suppliers.
  • Solid knowledge of how procurement works.
  • Strong networking, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Must have the ability to perform vLookups and create pivot tables in Excel.
  • Experience entering and managing data in ERP systems is required. Experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
