Job summary

Texas First Rentals is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to collaborate with operations managers and local technicians. You’ll provide training, advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and analysis on rental equipment to ensure operational readiness across branches.

You will work with fleet and operations teams on equipment updates and new solutions, focusing on Energy Solutions. The role requires hands-on experience and strong communication skills to support the field teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of generators, power distribution, A/C, heater, and shoring
• Experience with and understanding of VFDs, VSDs, soft starts, and across-the-line motor starting
• Ability to conduct diesel, generator, compressor, and HVAC training
• Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
• Advanced knowledge of propane/natural gas appliances and plant operations
• Proficiency with computer software and hardware in a technical environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Provide training, advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and analysis for rental equipment or applications
• Support operations teams with on-the-job training to develop technical competence
• Coordinate technical projects from start to finish to maintain quality and profitability
• Offer technical advice for specialty rental equipment to support growth of the specialty rental business
• Communicate project status and report operational metrics to management
• Collaborate with Service, Product Support, and Fleet stakeholders to resolve issues
