Job summary

Armstrong Fluid Technology is seeking a Technical Support & Field Service Specialist in North Tonawanda, NY to resolve customer issues, deliver on-site support, and train regional staff. This role requires strong technical aptitude in electrical/building controls, HVAC, and building automation protocols.

Expect travel and close collaboration with engineering, sales, and service teams to optimize equipment performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years college technical diploma or degree in electrical or building controls preferred.
• HVAC diploma/degree or five (5) years HVAC/Controls experience will be considered.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to work as a team member in a fast paced environment.
• Two years experience in engineering, manufacturing and distribution operations in an industrial environment.
• Experience on a technical support and/or customer service team; public speaking/training is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of building automation controls and related protocols (BACnet, Modbus).
• Experience working with Tridium Niagara and wireless networking is a definite asset.
• Creative problem-solving, conflict management, and bias for action.
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis and provide clear recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent technical support in an office-based environment or on-site to local customers.
• Assist customers with problematic equipment and offer economic solutions.
• Respond to customer technical inquiries online or on-site.
• Provide on-site training seminars for regional representatives and customers.
• Travel to various projects in the local region to troubleshoot and assist with start-up and commissioning (20% travel).
• Perform other departmental assignments as required and collaborate with teams to improve products or processes.
• Initiate corrective action reports if required.
• Implement recommendations related to method improvements and cycle time reductions.
