Job summary

Billerud is seeking a qualified Process Engineer/Supervisor for our Michigan mill to drive safe, efficient production and optimize paper machine and pulping operations. You will lead technical teams on the floor and in data interpretation, ensuring quality and productivity while managing costs.

The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with 3–7 years in paper/industrial settings and a relevant degree. On-site work and weekend on-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of process engineering or supervision experience in paper/manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in pulp and paper science, chemical engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Fully support the mill safety programs.
• Provide technical expertise to operations and assist operators in resolving gaps between production and the plan.
• Deliver high-quality process support and leadership to improve product quality and productivity.
• Coordinate and lead activities to resolve equipment problems and minimize costs; conduct trials and report results.
• Assist with machine shutdowns and start-ups.
• Provide on-call and weekend duty coverage.
• Develop deep understanding of unit operations, equipment, costs, and turnarounds.
