Job summary

Neogen Corporation in California is seeking a Technical Solutions Specialist to help customers implement and optimize our food safety solutions. You will build relationships, troubleshoot, and deliver tailored technical training both virtually and on-site, supporting the California region.

The role requires a scientific degree, about five years in food safety or related fields, excellent communication in English (and Spanish preferred), and up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline.
• Five years of relevant experience in food safety, food microbiology, food quality assurance, laboratory applications, or a related field.
• Strong technical foundation and the ability to apply scientific knowledge to real-world customer challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to different audiences, ideally in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Build strong customer relationships and understand their applications, workflows, and technical needs.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot product and application challenges, from routine questions to complex investigations.
• Help customers implement and use Neogen solutions to achieve food safety and quality objectives.
• Deliver engaging, tailored technical training and educational sessions, virtually and on-site.

Be a trusted technical partner to our customers

• Build strong customer relationships and understand their unique applications, workflows, and technical needs.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot product and application challenges, from routine questions to complex investigations.
• Help customers confidently implement and use Neogen solutions to achieve their food safety and quality objectives.
• Provide practical recommendations that help customers get the most value from our solutions.
• Deliver engaging, tailored technical training and educational sessions, both virtually and on-site.
• Support customers as they implement new solutions, develop their technical capabilities, and optimize their testing processes.
• Share technical knowledge with Sales and other internal teams to strengthen their understanding of our products and applications.
• Represent Neogen as a technical resource at customer meetings, industry events, workshops, and trade shows.

Connect science, customers, and the business

• Partner with Sales throughout the customer journey, providing technical expertise that supports customer needs and the successful adoption of Neogen solutions.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Research and Development, Regulatory, Quality, and other teams to address challenges and improve the customer experience.
• Bring the voice of the customer into the organization by sharing field observations, emerging needs, recurring challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute technical insights that support product development, new solution launches, and continuous improvement.
• Stay current on food safety applications, industry developments, regulatory considerations, and Neogen's evolving portfolio.
• Identify opportunities to improve technical processes, customer education, and how we deliver support.

Qualifications

Work Environment and Travel

• This is a fully remote position requiring candidates to reside in California. The Technical Solutions Specialist will support customers throughout the assigned California region.
• Travel of up to 50% within the assigned region is required, with occasional travel outside the region to support broader team and customer needs.
