Position Overview

We are seeking a Solutions Delivery Engineer to join our fast-paced, innovative environment. The ideal candidate is a creative, seasoned professional with deep technical expertise in Linux and virtualization technologies.

Key Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Linux operating systems, virtualization, ZFS, DRBD, Nagios, CheckMK, Apache, CouchDB, and scripting.
• Experience with Windows OS is beneficial but not primary.
• Proven track record in deploying on-premise or cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for deployment and support.
• Experience with retail POS systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

1. Become an expert in NCR Software Defined Store (SDS) Virtualized store solutions.
2. Assist customers with deploying and integrating NCR SDS solutions remotely and on-site.
3. Guide customers on deployment and usage of our solutions.
4. Build and maintain lab environments.
5. Manage and support Linux server OS and NCR SDS infrastructure.
6. Patch and update operating systems and software.
7. Collaborate with teams to communicate timelines and support product promotion.
8. Support sales engineering with technical expertise.
9. Automate processes to improve efficiency.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 2 years of experience with infrastructure deployment or cloud solutions.
• Minimum 5 years supporting Linux servers.
• Strong understanding of internet technologies: routing, DNS, DHCP, firewalls.
• Knowledge of programming or scripting languages, especially Python and AWS scripting.
• Experience with POS systems is advantageous.

Technical Expertise

• Linux (Ubuntu preferred), virtualization (Xen, VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V), resilient file systems (ZFS, DRBD, Btrfs, LVM, RAID, Ceph), shell scripting (Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby, PowerShell).
• Desirable: Nagios, CheckMK, Apache, CouchDB, Windows OS.

Personal Qualities

Must be organized, flexible, analytical, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and capable of handling technical challenges. Willing to provide out-of-hours support during busy periods.
