Job summary

Contemporary Amperex Technology (USA), Inc. (CATU) seeks an AIDC Engineer to bridge technical sales and engineering, supporting customers with data center power solutions and tailoring product benefits to meet business goals.

The role combines technical insight with strong communication to win projects and guide development based on customer feedback. Located in San Jose, CA / Houston, TX / Seattle, WA with relocation support, the position requires on-site presence, travel, and collaboration

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above; preferred majors include Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related fields.
  • Experience in data center power systems design, including HVDC, PDU, supercapacitors, UPS, BBU, power modules, or related areas.
  • At least 3 years of technical experience in customer-facing roles within the data center industry.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze technical requirements for overseas data center projects.
  • Communicate with customers and provide data center solutions based on their requirements; prepare bidding and proposal documents.
  • Identify risks and resolve system-level issues throughout the product development process.
  • Track testing, pilot production, and certification results; prepare R&D documentation such as product specifications and patents.
  • Draft technical agreements.
  • Be able to undertake long-term business travel or on-site assignments to provide localized customer support.

Job Overview

AIDC Engineer is the combination of application engineer and sales engineer. A AIDC engineer should support and service the customer by demonstrating the product function, technical benefits and value to help customer meet their company and business goals and help company to win projects. Combining technical knowledge with strong communication and interpersonal skills, work closely with clients, understanding their specific needs, and then leverage their in-depth understanding of the company's products or services to provide tailored solutions that meet those needs effectively. Additionally, AIDC engineers should gather feedback from clients and bridge the gap between internal development team and customer requirements, helping to refine products and services based on customer needs and experiences.

Location:
  • San Jose, CA / Houston, TX / Seattle, WA only. We support relocation!
Key Responsibilities:

Preferred Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or above; preferred majors include Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related fields.
  • Experience in data center power systems design, including HVDC, PDU (Panama power distribution), supercapacitors, UPS, BBU, power modules, or related areas.
  • At least 3 years of technical experience in customer-facing roles within the data center industry is preferred.
  • Experience with products or projects that have been successfully mass-produced or delivered is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, coordination, and comprehension skills.
  • Highly proactive, with solid logical thinking and strong teamwork abilities.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Regular, predictable on-site attendance is an essential function of this role.
  • Ability to move throughout offices, manufacturing facilities, and construction areas, including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25-50 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting as required, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in varied environments, including offices, industrial, and construction settings.
  • Willingness to travel to other job sites as business needs require.
