Job summary

Vantage Elevation seeks a Technical Services Senior Engineer to lead complex elevator controls support in Sacramento. The role involves hands-on engineering, training development, and acting as the primary technical resource for cross-functional teams.

Based in Sacramento, you will travel to customer sites, provide expert in-person and remote support, and contribute to training programs and product development collaborations within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of controls engineering experience.
• 5–8 years in elevator industry including engineering/manufacturing/quality roles.
• Supervisory or leadership experience in technical support.
• Comprehensive knowledge of elevator systems and standards.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
• Ability to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Serve as highest level technical escalation for customer issues.
• Resolve complex customer support concerns with hands-on assistance.
• Develop and deliver technical training programs.
• Create training materials and manuals.
• Act as primary technical resource for cross-functional teams.
• Provide SME consultation to product development and manufacturing.
• Support escalated internal technical issues.
• Present technical talks at customers and industry events.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5–8 years of experience in controls engineering and an electro‑mechanical manufacturing environment.
• 5–8 years of experience within the elevator industry, including engineering, manufacturing, and/or quality‑related roles.
• Prior supervisory and/or leadership experience in a technical support environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of elevator systems, components, operating environments, and applicable industry regulations and standards.
• Strong customer‑facing skills with the ability to provide technical support both remotely and onsite.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and public‑speaking skills.
• Strong problem‑solving, troubleshooting, analytical, and customer service skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Technical Support, Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Development, and Leadership teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer locations as needed, including on short notice.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Serving as the highest level of technical escalation for customer and field support issues.
• Responding to and resolving complex customer support concerns while providing hands‑on assistance to customers and Technical Support Technicians.
• Developing, maintaining, and delivering technical training programs for employees and customers.
• Creating and maintaining training materials, technical documentation, product manuals, and technical bulletins.
• Acting as the primary technical resource for production floor questions and serving as a liaison between Manufacturing and Research & Development teams.
• Providing subject‑matter expertise and technical consultation to Product Development, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Teams, and other Vantage business units.
• Supporting escalated internal technical issues across the organization.
• Conducting technical presentations for customers, consultants, and industry organizations.
• Representing the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and professional events such as NAEC Convention, NAEC Spring Educational Conference, ECNY, and MESA.
• Traveling to customer sites to provide technical field support and expertise.
• Participating in special projects and additional technical support initiatives as assigned by management.

• Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 for California applicants (actual compensation determined by experience, qualifications, location, and applicable legislation).
