York County Libraries is seeking a Library Assistant to support the Technical Services Department at Martin Library. The role handles processing, labeling, and preparing materials for distribution, and updates order records in the SPARK ILS.
The position requires reliability, teamwork, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Schedule is 29 hours per week, Monday–Thursday 9:00 AM–3:30 PM and Friday 9:00 AM–2:00 PM, with a half-hour unpaid lunch, at the Martin Library location.

The Library Assistant supports the Technical Services Department and branches of York County Libraries by processing and preparing materials for distribution, updating order records in the SPARK Integrated Library System, applying barcodes and spine labels, and completing physical processing tasks such as covering and taping materials. This position also prepares materials for delivery, monitors and orders supplies, and assists with special projects at other worksites as needed.
Must enjoy being a team player, providing quality customer service to library staff and working in an environment that requires changes in priorities due to shifting deadlines. This position requires someone with good communication skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision and a strong attention to detail. It is important that the candidate be reliable and comfortable working on a variety of projects.
