Job summary

Confidential Global Chemical Producer is seeking a Technical Service Manager to lead field technical market development in surfactants, water soluble polymers, chelates, and acids for diverse end-use markets. This fully remote role supports East Coast and Midwest regions with roughly 50% travel across the US.

The role interfaces with distributors and customers to develop proposals, solve technical issues, and drive commercialization, leveraging formulation expertise to create value.

Qualifications

• BS Chemistry or ChemE or related science degree; MS or PhD a plus.
• 5-10+ years experience in formulation, applications and/or technical service.
• Background in surfactants, emulsions, resins, chelates and acid-based catalyst.
• Proven ability to solve complex technical challenges and provide solutions to competitive issues.
• Able to build deep customer and distribution relationships across multiple levels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must have prior experience in a customer-facing role with commercial awareness.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% throughout US, with concentration on the East Coast.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary interface with technical staff at distribution partners and direct distribution customers' production and technical teams to develop commercial proposals and resolve customer issues.
• Drive customer success by providing formulation expertise and enabling commercialization of technologies that create value.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address competitive issues and capture opportunities across markets.
• Travel approximately 50% of the time to customer sites across the US, focusing on East Coast.

Our client, one of the world's largest global chemical producers, has an immediate need for a Technical Service Manager that will lead field technical market development in surfactants, water soluble polymers, chelates, and acids for different end use markets. This is a fully remote position with a preference for an individual to be located on the East Coast or Midwest. The role requires approximately 50% travel to customers throughout the US.

This position will serve as the primary interface with technical staff at distribution partners and as well as direct distribution customers' production and technical teams to help develop commercial proposals, provide solutions to competitive issues, and identify/resolve customer issues/inquiries.

The person in this role will drive customer success by providing formulation expertise, supporting product development and enabling the commercialization of technologies that create value.

Experience

• BS Chemistry or ChemE or related science degree - MS or PhD a plus.
• 5-10+ years experience in formulation, applications and/or technical service with a background in surfactants, emulsions, resins, chelates and acid based catalyst.
• Proven ability to solve complex technical challenges and provide solutions to competitive issues, analyze trends and identify and resolve customer issues.
• Able to build deep customer and distribution relationships across multiple levels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Must have prior experience in a customer-facing role with commercial awareness.
• Strong collaboration skills, able to work independently and collaborate across all levels.
• Able to travel approximately 50% throughout US, with a concentration on the East Coast.
