Job summary

Johnstone Supply, The Balsan Group is seeking an HVAC-savvy professional to join our team in Downingtown, PA. The role focuses on training customers and staff, solving technical issues, and coordinating with sales and vendors.

Field travel is required to support customers and promote products. Ideal candidates will have an HVAC associate degree or higher, five or more years in a technical HVAC role, strong communication skills, and the ability to learn new computer programs quickly.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn new computer programs and adapt to software tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Minimum 5 years of technical field experience in HVAC distribution or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales and marketing to train customers and staff.
• Develop customer relationships by handling calls and providing technical support.
• Provide on-site equipment start-up assistance.
• Work with vendors to address customer needs and questions.
• Identify sales leads and share information with outside sales and management.
• Support sales quotes and orders with technical input alongside inside sales.
• Travel to client sites as needed to support service and sales.
• Recommend promotions, equipment, and parts to customers.
• Continuously learn HVAC tech and government energy programs and train others.

Job description

We’re looking for a HVAC knowledgeable candidate who has problem-solving skills and customer service abilities to join our team.

Essential Job Functions:

• Collaborate with sales and marketing to provide technical training for customers and company staff
• Develop customer relationships by fielding calls from them and providing technical support
• Provide on-site equipment start-up assistance
• Works closely with vendors to find answers for customers in technical and other needs
• Uncovers and communicates sales and lead information to outside sales staff and management
• Works with inside sales to provide technical support with sales quotes and orders
• Works with area managers to fill in need of the company in other areas
• Recommends sales promotions, equipment and parts to customers
• Traveling required
• Continuously learning new HVAC technology, government energy programs, sales developments in the area and teaching it first to the rest of the company and then to customers

Qualifications:

• HVAC associates or undergraduate degree
• Minimum of 5 years of technical field experience and other technical experience at HVAC distribution or manufacturing
• Relationship-building skills
• Ability to navigate and learn new computer programs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
