Technical Sales Support Engineer - Supply Systems

Job summary

The Freudenberg Group is seeking an experienced Application Engineer in the Houston area to develop engineered supply system solutions. You will review customer specifications, prepare quotations, and provide technical clarification between customers, Sales, and Engineering teams.

Leverage API 682 and ASME/ANSI standards, interpret P&IDs and drawings, and collaborate with Design Engineering to deliver precise proposals and documentation. Strong communication and CAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in application engineering or related environment.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate requirements into engineered solutions.
• Experience interpreting P&IDs, PFDs, GA drawings, instrumentation diagrams and mechanical layouts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align project scope, costing, delivery expectations, and technical feasibility.
• Interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, isometrics, instrumentation diagrams, and dimensional requirements to ensure solution accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to develop/refine 2D drawings, layouts, and technical documentation for proposals.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quotation quality, costing reliability, process efficiency, lead time accuracy, and mechanical seal applications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in application engineering, technical sales support, project engineering, supply systems, rotating equipment, or a related industrial environment.
• Strong ability to interpret technical specifications and translate customer requirements into practical engineered solutions.
• Demonstrated experience interpreting P&IDs, PFDs, GA drawings, instrumentation diagrams, and mechanical layout drawings.
• Working knowledge of seal supply systems, auxiliary systems, instrumentation, piping assemblies, and mechanical seal applications.
• Familiarity with API 682, ASME, ANSI, and other industry standards relevant to engineered supply systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint, along with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with experience supporting quotations, costing reviews, delivery coordination, and custom scope interpretation.
