Job summary

Freudenberg Flow Technologies LLC in Houston, TX is seeking an Applications Engineer II for Connector Products to drive strategic and day-to-day engineering activities, support North America customers, and deliver robust sealing and connector solutions.

You will use SolidWorks, Mathcad, and strong communication to identify challenges, develop new products, and collaborate with global teams; travel about 10% as needed.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of practical engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably with pressure-containing connections.
  • BSME required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII, NORSOK, and API.
  • Working knowledge of metal-to-metal sealing products.
  • Working knowledge of buoyancy system products.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate highly complex concepts, anticipate objections, and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Results-driven, with the ability to establish, monitor, and manage technical objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Execute strategic and day-to-day engineering activities for the Connectors team.
  • Support the existing and growing customer base in North America.
  • Manage daily engineering activities, processes, and technical inquiries, serving as a source of expertise for the business, colleagues, and customers.
  • Work closely with various FFL teams to identify customer technical challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Utilize strong CAD skills, with SolidWorks preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Mathcad is advantageous.
  • Anticipate engineering challenges and recommend new product development opportunities when needed.
  • Interface directly with customers who are recognized subject matter experts within their industries.
  • Perform New Product Development (NPD) activities, including calculations, design reviews, engineering evaluations, and adherence to best practices to ensure projects are completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Provide technical expertise to support the introduction and expansion of existing HIC products into new markets.
  • Travel will be approximately 10% but could vary based on demand.

  • Working knowledge of buoyancy system productspreferred.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicatehighly complexconcepts,anticipatepotential objections, and influence senior-level stakeholders to consider alternative viewpoints.
  • Results-driven, with the ability toestablish, monitor, and effectively manage the achievement of technicalobjectives.
