Job summary

The Pond Guy in Armada, MI is seeking a Technical Sales Specialist to blend customer service with technical product knowledge. You will assist customers by phone, email, and chat, turning inquiries into sales while learning pond products you can proudly represent.

This full-time role offers a competitive base wage plus commissions and bonuses, with training provided. You'll work onsite at headquarters for the first year, with potential transition to hybrid or remote work after meeting

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of sales or customer service experience.
• Basic understanding of calculations, conversions & ratios.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers.
• Proficient in Word and Excel; able to multitask across systems.
• Familiarity with CRM software is a plus.
• Hands-on mindset; comfortable in an office setting.
• Technical background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with technical product questions, sales, and order-taking via phone, email, text, and chat.
• Turn objections into conversions by asking relevant questions to sell best solutions.
• Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities to support customers' pond goals.
• Conduct outbound calls/emails to follow up on leads, quotes, or inquiries.
• Provide pond profiles, education, and product training resources to customers.
• Research to determine best product/solution for the customer.
• Manage customer information in CRM; log sales activities and follow-ups.
• Address issues related to products, shipping, or post-sales support.
• Analyze and review sales goals weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
• Adapt to new sales tools and tech updates to improve the customer experience.
• Perform field work and occasional face-to-face retail sales for training purposes.
• Participate in ongoing sales and product training and demos.
