Job Title: Technical Inside Sales Representative

Location: Naugatuck Valley, CT

Employment Type: Permanent, Direct Hire

Salary: $35-40/hr, depending on experience (Overtime is offered, with the option to come in a half hour early)

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Inside Sales Representative for a growing manufacturer in the Naugatuck Valley area. This individual will act as the bridge between customers, the sales team, and the production department, providing exceptional support, managing quotes and orders, and ensuring seamless communication throughout the sales process.

This is an ideal role for someone with strong inside sales experience who thrives in a fast-paced, technical environment and is eager to contribute to a collaborative team. Prior experience in a manufacturing or engineering-driven business is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for incoming calls and emails from customers
  • Provide product information, technical guidance, and outstanding customer service
  • Work closely with external sales representatives to support client needs
  • Develop a strong understanding of product offerings to confidently troubleshoot and provide solutions

Quote Management

  • Receive, review, and prioritize customer quote requests
  • Collaborate with engineering and vendors to confirm feasibility and pricing accuracy
  • Prepare accurate and competitive quotes in a timely manner
  • Maintain detailed records in the Quote Log and coordinate internally to meet deadlines

Order Processing & Documentation

  • Review customer purchase orders to verify accuracy in pricing, lead time, and terms
  • Use internal tools such as the Product Configurator, M2M, and pricing systems to generate quotes and order packets
  • Ensure all required documentation is organized and shared across internal departments, including engineering specs and customer information

Territory & Industry Focus

  • We are looking for a sales professional to cover a key territory that spans across the Midwest and Southeast, including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, and Georgia.
  • The position is responsible for both customer service and technical sales support, working with internal teams to develop quotes, find the best tools for the job, and create part numbers and coversheets for quotes sent to customers and outside sales reps.
  • The role requires strong experience in shaft winding, printing, textiles, and related industries.
  • The ideal candidate will have knowledge of tools for winding and spinning manufacturing companies, including those used in textile production, flooring cloth, and similar materials.
  • This is an inside sales role, with a focus on customer service, developing technical solutions, and assisting with sales out-of-state. You'll also be handling purchase orders (POs) and ensuring smooth communication between the customer, outside sales, and engineering teams.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in inside sales, preferably within a technical or manufacturing setting
  • Strong communication, follow-up, and organizational skills
  • Quick learner with the ability to grasp technical product details
  • Tech-savvy, with experience in ERP systems (M2M or similar), pricing tools, and order management software
  • Team-oriented with a proactive attitude and attention to detail
