Job summary

Canon U.S.A., Inc. is seeking a Technical Sales Account Manager in Silicon Valley to sell and support optomechatronics products.

You will manage the full sales cycle, engage with customers, and coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams in Japan to meet technical and delivery requirements. The role emphasizes strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, plus the ability to travel up to 20% within the US and occasionally internationally.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field and 5+ years of related B2B or technical sales experience.
• Experience selling technical, industrial, or engineered products.
• Business-level proficiency in Japanese strongly preferred.
• Technical aptitude to read and understand technical documents, drawings, specifications.
• Ability to acquire new customers and develop business.
• Solid grasp of sales principles, customer interfacing, and negotiation.
• Must be flexible in work schedule and willing to travel up to 20% (domestic, some international).
• Driving is required with a valid license and safe driving history.

Responsibilities

• Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets for Canon’s optomechatronics products.
• Develop new customers and applications through direct sales activities, prospecting, referrals, and events.
• Manage full sales cycle: opportunity development, quotations, negotiations, forecasting, closing.
• Provide technical sales and application support for Canon products including galvano scanners and astronomy-related optics.
• Review customer requirements and recommend Canon products and solutions.
• Conduct customer presentations, technical discussions, product demonstrations, and initial troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with Canon engineering and manufacturing teams in Japan for technical queries and delivery needs.
• Maintain accurate sales pipeline, forecast, and report opportunities, risks, and competitive insights.
• Identify market trends and opportunities; provide feedback to management and product teams.
• Represent Canon at customer visits, industry events, webinars, and conferences.
• Collaborate with sales support, engineering, marketing, and other Canon groups.
