Job summary

Grand Valley Manufacturing Co. is seeking a Sales and Estimating specialist to prepare accurate cost estimates and serve as the primary contact for customers throughout quoting and order fulfillment.

This role combines technical estimating with customer relationship management to drive profitable growth and on-time delivery. You will evaluate inquiries for manufacturing fit, collect drawings and specs, analyze CAD models, obtain vendor pricing, and prepare timely quotations while maintaining

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-5 years’ relevant experience in machining or estimating in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of CNC milling, turning, multi-axis machining, and machining processes.
• Able to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, proposal documents.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer enquiries for manufacturing fit and profitability.
• Collaborate with customers to collect blueprints and documents for estimates.
• Analyze drawings and CAD models to determine scope, materials, tolerances.
• Obtain pricing from vendors for materials and subcontracted services.
• Prepare timely, competitive quotations maintaining target margins.
• Coordinate with plant managers and engineering to optimize manufacturing methods.
• Maintain estimating databases and pricing models.
• Support contract negotiations and quote reviews.
• Monitor estimate accuracy against actual production costs.
• Serve as Grand Valley Manufacturing Co. representative to customers.
• Provide technical expertise to help customers understand estimates.
