Job summary

Precision Advanced Manufacturing, formerly Precision Waterjet & Laser, seeks a cost estimator to develop accurate, competitive estimates for precision‑machined and fabricated components across CNC milling, turning, sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, and waterjet processes. Analyze drawings, specs, and customer requirements to build complete cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Strong machining and manufacturing background with broad process knowledge.
• Working knowledge of CNC programming logic and process engineering.
• Organized, deadline-driven team player capable of multi-tasking.
• Experience in shop floor, engineering, or CNC programming preferred.
• Up-to-date understanding of modern manufacturing processes and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, competitive cost estimates for precision parts across multiple processes.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Build complete cost estimates for CNC Milling (3- and 5-axis), Turning, Fabrication, Laser Cutting & Waterjet.
• Incorporate heat treat, plating, and special process requirements.
• Define routings, cycle times, and manufacturing strategies.
• Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Programming, Planning, and Operations.
• Manage multiple RFQs simultaneously with speed and accuracy.

Role and Responsibilities

Develop accurate, competitive cost estimates for precision-machined and fabricated components across multiple manufacturing processes.

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
• Build complete cost estimate for: CNC Milling (3-Axis / 5-Axis), CNC Turning, Fabrication (Sheet Metal, Forming, Assembly), Laser Cutting & Waterjet
• Incorporate complex heat treat, plating, and special process requirements
• Define routings, cycle times, and manufacturing strategies
• Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Programming, Planning, and Operations
• Manage multiple RFQs simultaneously with speed and accuracy

Qualifications

• Strong Machining and Manufacturing background
• Working knowledge of CNC programming logic and process engineering
• Organized and deadline driven team player
• Prior shop floor, Engineering, and/ or CNC programming experience and a practical, up-to date understanding of modern manufacturing processes and best practices (preferred)

Requirements

• Proficient in English (written and verbal)
• Comfortable in MRP systems (JobBOSS² preferred), Excel, and Outlook
• Strong math skills required (trigonometry a plus)
• Accurate and detail-oriented under time pressure
