Job summary

Loos & Co is seeking an Applications Engineer to serve as a primary technical resource for the Sales team, translating customer requirements into technically sound, commercially viable solutions.

You will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to interpret and quote rope & assemblies products and custom cables. This role emphasizes engineering support, cost estimates, and effective technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical or related engineering field is required.
• Experience interpreting drawings, GD&T, and specs.
• Experience supporting product selection and engineering functions.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary technical resource for Sales with product capabilities and feasibility.
• Evaluate customer requirements and recommend solutions.
• Support development and quotation of assemblies, fittings, and related products.
• Prepare cost estimates, BOMs, and technical documents.
• Assist with RFQ reviews of drawings/specifications.
• Coordinate escalation to engineering for complex opportunities.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality and Customer Service.
• Assist with new product introductions and manufacturing docs.
• Maintain knowledge of product lines and industry standards.
• Monitor market trends to support positioning and recommendations.
• Support continuous improvement in quoting and engineering processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
