Job summary

Appleone is seeking a Technical Publications Specialist to develop, organize, and maintain high-quality technical documentation for a manufacturing company. This role ensures manuals and materials are accurate, compliant, and user-friendly for operators, service technicians, and distributors.

The position requires 3+ years of technical writing experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and proficiency in InDesign.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Technical Writing is required.
• 3+ years of experience in technical writing/publications, preferably in heavy equipment or industrial manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical systems.
• Experience creating service and operator manuals for equipment or machinery.
• Proficiency with Adobe InDesign or similar design software.
• Familiarity with CAD drawings and interpreting engineering schematics.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and maintain operator manuals.
• Create, edit, and maintain service and maintenance manuals.
• Prepare technical bulletins and service advisories.
• Collaborate with engineering, product development, and field service to gather information.
• Translate complex concepts into clear, user-friendly content.
• Ensure documentation complies with regulatory and safety standards (ANSI, OSHA, ISO).
• Manage document revisions and version control throughout the product lifecycle.
• Incorporate engineering changes into existing documentation promptly.
• Work with graphics teams to develop diagrams and visuals.
• Support new product launches with complete documentation packages.
• Maintain consistency in terminology, formatting, and branding across publications.
