Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional product development and manufacturing projects from concept through commercialization and production.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk registers.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Automation, Manufacturing, and Software teams.
  • Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring successful transition from prototype builds to full-scale automated manufacturing.
  • Facilitate project planning, design reviews, technical reviews, and executive status meetings.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and key performance indicators while driving accountability across functional teams.
  • Coordinate supplier activities, equipment procurement, manufacturing readiness, and production launch schedules.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure production lines, SMT equipment, automated assembly systems, and test equipment are ready to support product launches.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize schedule and cost impacts.
  • Support engineering change management, product revisions, and configuration management throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure products meet applicable industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, and project communications for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve project execution, operational efficiency, and product launch success.

We are looking for: Technical Project Manager – Product Development & Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead cross-functional engineering and manufacturing projects supporting the development and production of electronic devices and cellular communication modules. This individual will be responsible for driving projects from concept through design, validation, manufacturing launch, and full-scale production while ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer requirements, and production schedules.

The Technical Project Manager will coordinate efforts across Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Automation, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations teams to successfully deliver complex hardware products into a highly automated Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing environment. This position will be on-site, based in Solon, OH and report to the Head of Capital Projects. Travel ~5%.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional product development and manufacturing projects from concept through commercialization and production.

  • Experience with electronic devices, cellular communication modules, IoT products, or embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Testability (DFT).
  • Construction management, installation and commissioning experience managing capital equipment implementation and manufacturing automation projects.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Agile project methodologies.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and global supply chains.
  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

The successful Technical Project Manager will serve as the central leader coordinating engineering, manufacturing, and operational teams to deliver innovative electronic devices and cellular communication projects on time, within budget, and ready for high-volume production.
