Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead complex equipment projects from order acceptance through delivery and training. The role requires coordinating across Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, QC, Technical Service, and customers to ensure on-time shipment and successful testing.

The ideal candidate will manage multiple projects simultaneously, identify risks early, and communicate clearly with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in technical project management within industrial equipment or related technical environments.
• Strong technical aptitude to understand complex mechanical and electrical systems.
• Excellent project planning, organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
• ERP experience preferred; NetSuite knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned complex equipment and system projects from order acceptance through delivery
• Review customer purchase orders, quotes, sales orders, and technical requirements to ensure the complete project scope is understood and accurately documented.
• Develop and maintain project schedules identifying key milestones, required equipment, critical components, supplier dependencies, QC requirements, shipment dates, training, and startup requirements.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain to monitor purchase orders, supplier commitments, expected receipt dates, shortages, and other material dependencies affecting the project schedule.
• Coordinate with Operations and Quality Control to ensure equipment and components are received, assembled, inspected, tested, and ready prior to customer delivery or training.
• Identify the critical path for each project and proactively identify delays, missing components, technical issues, or other risks that could affect customer commitments.
• Provide proactive customer communication regarding project status, milestones, equipment readiness, schedule changes, delivery expectations, training, and other project requirements.
• Ensure customer-supplied equipment or components required for successful implementation are identified, documented, and incorporated into the overall project plan.

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of complex equipment and system orders from order acceptance through delivery, training, and project completion.

This position serves as the primary owner and point of coordination for designated complex projects involving complex welding equipment, suppliers, technical requirements, customer commitments, and internal departments. The Technical PM will develop and maintain project timelines, identify critical dependencies and risks, coordinate across Sales, Sales Support, Supply Chain, Operations, QC, Technical Service, and customers to ensure an on‑time shipment and complete functional testing.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically capable, proactive, comfortable managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, and naturally driven to identify and resolve potential problems before they impact the customer or project schedule.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience in technical project management within industrial equipment, manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, automation, welding, construction, or a related technical environment.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex mechanical/electrical equipment and system dependencies.
• Strong project planning, organizational, problem‑solving, and follow‑through skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, technical personnel, and internal leadership.
• ERP experience preferred; NetSuite experience beneficial.
