Job description

Role Summary

We are hiring a Technical Project Manager and Agile Delivery Lead to own delivery cadence, planning discipline, and execution transparency across our engineering teams.

The role operates across Product, Engineering, and Customer Operations - improving delivery predictability, keeping concurrent workstreams aligned, and reporting clearly from sprint execution through senior leadership.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who has managed multiple delivery teams, built effective agile practices, and created accountability through clear commitments, metrics, and early escalation. The first year focuses on establishing a predictable, metrics‑driven delivery operating model.

Key Responsibilities
Sprint Operations
  • Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives across multiple teams.
  • Establish a consistent sprint cadence and published delivery calendar.
  • Secure agreed sprint goals with Product, Engineering, and team leads before each sprint.
  • Maintain backlog quality: clear acceptance criteria, right‑sized stories, identified dependencies, decomposed oversized work.
  • Track sprint changes, unplanned work, and rollover with rationale and ownership.
  • Hold teams to agreed Jira workflows and delivery processes.
Delivery Reporting and Metrics
  • Produce sprint reporting: delivery against plan, goal attainment, throughput, velocity, burndown, churn, rollover, cycle time, and unplanned work.
  • Report delivery status, risks, dependencies, blockers, and decisions to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Maintain dashboards giving an accurate, current view of work across teams and initiatives.
  • Run recurring metrics reviews with Product and Engineering leads and track improvement actions.
  • Use metrics to find systemic issues and improve planning accuracy and predictability. Metrics support decision‑making and continuous improvement rather than individual performance assessment.
Release Planning and Coordination
  • Coordinate release planning, scheduling, readiness reviews, and communications.
  • Own release notes.
  • Track release dependencies, risks, approvals, and outstanding actions.
  • Confirm release readiness and handoffs with Engineering, Product, and Customer Operations.
Quarterly Planning and Governance
  • Structure and facilitate quarterly planning covering capacity, sequencing, priorities, and dependencies.
  • Run formal mid‑quarter reviews with dashboards and written summaries of progress, risks, changes, and actions.
  • Maintain visibility of cross‑team dependencies and elevate risk before they affect delivery.
  • Trace sprint work through Stories and Epics to Initiatives and roadmap outcomes.
  • Maintain action, decision, risk, and dependency tracking across major workstreams.
Cross‑Functional Delivery
  • Work daily across Product, Engineering, and Customer Operations on priorities, dependencies, and customer‑impacting work.
  • Create transparency around commitments and elevate material changes early.
  • Drive blocker resolution with clear owners and completion dates.
  • Manage support and operational intake: tickets categorized, routed, and recorded in Jira before prioritization or sprint assignment.
  • Support leadership in balancing roadmap delivery, technical work, defects, and customer priorities.

Product remains accountable for prioritization and roadmap decisions. Engineering remains accountable for estimates, solution design, and quality. This role is accountable for delivery process, coordination, reporting, and execution transparency.

Required Experience
  • 5 to 7 years of project management or software delivery experience.
  • Engineering background - degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands‑on engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects, workstreams, or engineering teams.
  • Prior agile delivery role: Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Manager, Technical Project Manager, or Agility Lead.
  • Technical fluency to work with engineering teams, understand dependencies, and challenge delivery assumptions.
  • Strong command of Jira and Confluence: boards, dashboards, workflows, reporting, and configuration.
  • Experience facilitating sprint ceremonies, quarterly planning, and release coordination.
  • Experience producing delivery reporting for executive stakeholders.
  • Strong facilitation, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Fintech, capital markets, or other regulated environments.
  • Scaled planning practices including PI planning or similar models.
  • Coordination across Product, Engineering, Customer Operations, and client‑facing teams.
  • Establishing or improving delivery operating models in a growing software organization.
  • Configuring support intake and delivery workflows in Jira.
