Job summary

Talan in the United States is seeking a skilled Scrum Master to join our NYC-based tech team hybrid schedule. You will lead Scrum ceremonies, remove blockers, and collaborate with Product Owners to keep backlogs clear and deliver on sprint goals.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years as Scrum Master, a CS/IT degree, and certifications like CSM/PSM PMI-ACP; familiarity with Jira, Confluence and CI/CD tools such as XLDeploy/XLRelease. Visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working as a Scrum Master.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar.
• Preferred Certification: CSM, PSM I/II, or PMI-ACP.
• Comfortable using Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD tools like XLDeploy/XLRelease.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog work, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Identify and remove blockers to keep the team focused and on track.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to keep the backlog clear and ready for sprints.
• Track team velocity and share progress updates with stakeholders.
• Shield the team from distractions during sprints and implement improvements from retrospectives.

Job Description

Location: NYC (Hybrid – at least 3 days onsite/week)

We are seeking a skilled Scrum Master to join our team and support Agile delivery on software development projects. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience running Scrum ceremonies and a strong ability to remove blockers so the team can stay focused and deliver on time.

Role and responsibilities

• Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog work, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, keep them short and useful
• Find and fix anything slowing the team down, whether it's a tech issue, a people issue, or something else
• Work closely with Product Owners to keep the backlog clear and ready for the next sprint
• Track team speed and progress, and share updates with stakeholders
• Keep the team focused , block out distractions, extra requests, and interruptions during sprints
• Turn feedback from retrospectives into real changes for the next sprint

Qualifications

• 3+ years working as a Scrum Master
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar
• Preferred Certification: CSM, PSM I/II, or PMI-ACP
• Comfortable using tools like Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD tools like XLDeploy/XLRelease
