Job summary

Talan is seeking a skilled Scrum Master in NYC to support Agile delivery on software development projects. The role requires hands-on Scrum ceremonies and strong blocker-removal capabilities to keep the team focused and on schedule.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Scrum Master experience, a Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field, and may hold CS M/PSM PMI-ACP certifications. Proficiency with Jira/Confluence and CI/CD tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Preferred certifications: CSM, PSM I/II, or PMI-ACP.
• Experience with Jira/Confluence and CI/CD tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, keeping them short and useful.
• Identify and fix anything slowing the team down, whether technical, people-related or process-related.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to keep the backlog clear and ready for the next sprint.
• Track team velocity and progress and share updates with stakeholders.
• Protect the team during sprints by blocking distractions and unnecessary requests.
• Turn sprint retrospectives feedback into real changes for the next sprint.

Role and responsibilities

• Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog work, sprint reviews, and retrospectives,keep them short and useful
• Find and fix anything slowing the team down, whether it's a tech issue, a people issue, or something else
• Work closely with Product Owners to keep the backlog clear and ready for the next sprint
• Track team speed and progress, and share updates with stakeholders
• Keep the team focused ,block out distractions, extra requests, and interruptions during sprints
• Turn feedback from retrospectives into real changes for the next sprint

Qualifications

• 3+ years working as a Scrum Master
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar
• Preferred Certification:CSM, PSM I/II, or PMI-ACP
• Comfortable using tools like Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD tools like XLDeploy/XLRelease
