Job summary

NetFire is seeking a Technical Project Manager to coordinate our technical resources and MSP/MSSP service delivery. You will report to the Director of Operations and act as the link between engineers, clients, and leadership.

This role focuses on execution: schedules, resourcing, follow-through, and the practical legwork that gets projects done efficiently.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years in technical project management, IT service delivery, or a related coordination role.
• A track record of running several projects at once and getting them finished.
• MSP, MSSP, or IT service provider experience. Strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with SLAs, client commitments, and escalation processes.
• Willingness to do the legwork yourself. Sourcing vendors, gathering quotes, and making the calls should feel normal, not beneath you.

Description

NetFire is looking for a Technical Project Manager to coordinate our technical resources, keep MSP/MSSP service delivery on track, and run internal projects from kickoff to close. You'll report to the Director of Operations and act as the link between our engineers, our clients, and leadership.

This is not a sales role and it's not account management. You won't carry a quota or own client relationships commercially. What you'll own is execution: the schedules, the resourcing, the follow-through, and the practical legwork that gets projects done efficiently.

What You Will Do

Project Management

• Run the full lifecycle of technical and internal projects: scoping, planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout.


• Build project schedules and milestones that hold up, and adjust them as priorities move.


• Coordinate technical resources across teams. Balance workloads and keep engineers unblocked.


• Spot risks and dependencies early. Resolve them before they turn into problems.


• Track project health and scope, and report status clearly to stakeholders and leadership.

MSP/MSSP Service Delivery

• Support service delivery across managed clients so SLAs and quality standards stay met.


• Translate client needs into scheduled, actionable work for the technical teams.


• Help run client onboarding and offboarding as clean, well-documented projects.


• Work with the security and infrastructure teams to deliver MSSP engagements on time.

Operational Coordination

• Handle the groundwork that moves projects forward. Call local contractors, ISPs, and more to build a recommendation shortlist. Gather vendor quotes. Confirm lead times. Chase down the details a plan depends on.


• Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and suppliers to schedule installs, deliveries, and service windows.


• Run planning sessions, standups, and stakeholder meetings that stay focused and end with clear next steps.


• Keep project documentation, runbooks, and vendor contacts current.

Requirements

What We Are Looking For

Experience

• 3 to 5 years in technical project management, IT service delivery, or a related coordination role.


• A track record of running several projects at once and getting them finished.


• MSP, MSSP, or IT service provider experience. Strongly preferred.


• Familiarity with SLAs, client commitments, and escalation processes.


• Willingness to do the legwork yourself. Sourcing vendors, gathering quotes, and making the calls should feel normal, not beneath you.

Project Management Skills

• Solid grasp of project management methodologies and the sense to pick the right one.


• Strong scheduling, resource planning, and dependency management.


• Comfortable in project management and ticketing tools. ConnectWise, Autotask, Jira, Asana, MS Project, or similar.


• Able to hold scope, timelines, and risk across a group of stakeholders.

Technical Foundation

• A working understanding of IT infrastructure: networking, servers, virtualization, cloud, and security basics.


• Enough technical fluency to talk to engineers as equals, follow the work, and push back on an estimate that doesn't add up. You don't need to do the engineering yourself.


• Familiarity with how MSP/MSSP operations and SLAs work.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred.


• Equivalent professional experience works in place of a degree.

Certifications (Preferred, Not Required)

• Project management: PMP, CAPM, or Certified ScrumMaster.


• Service management: ITIL Foundation or higher.


• Technical: any relevant Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, or security certifications are a plus.
