Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Applied Research Laboratories seeks a Communications Systems Technical Project Manager to lead Naval acoustic and RF projects at the Pickle Research Campus. You will coordinate with ATSD, develop execution plans, and monitor milestones for successful delivery.

Requirements include a engineering degree, PM experience, and the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams. US citizenship and security-clearance readiness are expected; 40-hour weeks, exempt status,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, mechanical, software engineering, engineering management, or similar field.
  • Experience with RF communications systems and networks.
  • Five years of project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and leading technical projects.
  • Three years in managing engineering teams.
  • Experience planning, developing and executing technical project plans across a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with ATSD engineering to develop and execute detailed technical plans and schedules.
  • Serve as the technical systems lead, evaluating development plans against requirements.
  • Oversee ATSD project execution including fabrication, integration, and testing of undersea sensing and communications tech.
  • Prepare and present test event details and results to internal/external stakeholders.
  • Assist ATSD Program Managers with staffing by identifying personnel needs and hiring engineers.
  • Other related functions as assigned.
