The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Technical Project Engineer to lead software portfolio programs from El Segundo, CA or Albuquerque, NM. You will partner with technical leads to capture status across multiple projects, surface risks and opportunities, and help leadership prioritize resources.

The role blends software architecture expertise with program management in a fast-paced, security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable STEM areas or other discipline.
• Eight or more years of experience with increasing responsibility in software engineering, software architecture, or technical program/project management.
• Experience in software architecture, design, CI/CD, and Agile delivery practices to engage credibly with technical leads.
• Experience tracking, synthesizing, and reporting status across multiple concurrent projects or workstreams to leadership.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, translating technical detail into clear status, risk, and opportunity narratives.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and build relationships across technical teams.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to other domestic work locations or customer sites.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio Visibility & Status Reporting: consolidate status for leadership.
• Issue & Opportunity Escalation: surface blockers and risks with context.
• Technical Lead Partnership: engage with leads on architecture and delivery health.
• Portfolio Shaping: help organize, prioritize, and evolve the portfolio.
• Process & Reporting Cadence: establish dashboards and reviews for leadership.
• Customer Engagement Strategy: inform customer strategy across the portfolio.
• Culture of Innovation: drive modern software practices and mentor juniors.
