Job summary

FAR.AI is a nonprofit AI safety research institute seeking a Technical Program Manager to define programs across foundational research and research infrastructure. You will own end-to-end delivery, build scalable processes, and partner with researchers to move findings, methods, and tools toward real-world impact.

The role emphasizes fast ramp-up on unfamiliar domains, balancing compute-tradeoffs, and delivering 0-to-1 program execution in a dynamic, safety-focused environment. Remote U.S.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in ML, software engineering, or related field with 4+ years building technical programs from scratch.
• Practical domain experience in AI/ML such as coordinating model releases or evaluating datasets.
• Track record delivering complex technical programs with tradeoffs and priorities.
• Experience transferring foundational research into production environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Take complex technical programs from idea to delivery with milestones and high technical bar.
• Prioritize across research demands to land the highest-impact work.
• Build and maintain compute/resource roadmaps and engage external partners.
• Package researchers' work for transfer to frontier labs and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Operations, Events, and Communications for timelines and context.
