Job description

Job Description

Do you want a role with deep meaning and the ability to make a massive impact? Hiring top talent is not only critical to Amazon’s success—it can literally change the world. It took a lot of great hires to deliver innovations like AWS, Prime, and Alexa, which make life better for millions of customers around the world every day. As part of the Intelligent Talent Acquisition (ITA) team, you'll have the opportunity to reinvent the hiring process and deliver unprecedented scale, sophistication, and accuracy that Amazon's Talent Acquisition operations need.

ITA is an industry-leading people science and technology organization made up of scientists, engineers, analysts, product professionals, and more. Our shared goal is to fairly and precisely connect the right people to the right jobs. Last year, we delivered over 6 million online candidate assessments, replacing the "game of chance" with a merit-based approach that gives candidates the chance to showcase their true skills. Each year we help Amazon deliver billions of packages around the world by making it possible to hire hundreds of thousands of associates in the right quantity, at the right location, and at exactly the right time. You’ll work on state-of-the-art research, advanced software tools, new AI systems, and machine learning algorithms to solve complex hiring challenges. Leveraging Amazon's in-house tech stack built on AWS, you'll have the autonomy and flexibility to bring innovative solutions to life. One day, we can bring these solutions to the rest of the world. Join ITA in using cutting-edge technologies to transform the hiring landscape and make a meaningful difference in people's lives. Together, we can solve the world's toughest hiring problems.

Within ITA, the Technical Program Management team bridges the gap between visionary ideas and practical implementation, orchestrating complex projects from inception to delivery. Our work is pivotal in aligning cross-functional teams, managing resources, and navigating technical challenges to ensure ITA’s most ambitious goals become reality. Technical Program Managers leverage their technical acumen and leadership skills to influence product strategy, optimize processes, and deliver solutions that have a tangible impact on millions of prospective Amazonians worldwide. If you're passionate about technology and thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, come lead transformative projects that remake the status quo of talent acquisition.

Key job responsibilities

The Technical Program Manager will define and implement multiple data and web-based solutions on a global scale. You will partner with engineering teams in North America and Europe to define software development principles and goals for the global ITA organizations. You will quantify problems, solutions, estimate engineering effort, and roll out new systems (and updates) which adhere to said principles. You will collaborate with research and data scientists to implement algorithms into your customer's daily business, and support teams to ensure operational excellence. In addition, you will be an independent assessor and developer of technical talent throughout the organization.

About The Team

The Intelligent Talent Acquisition (ITA) team supports the Amazon Talent Acquisition (ATA) organization by transforming data into insights on hourly associate and corporate hiring within Amazon. While ATA is responsible for managing the hourly and corporate talent supply chain, the ITA team focuses on defining analytics that measure the performance of the program. We also work on metrics to monitor the health of the program and identify efficiencies through data and predictive analytics.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 2+ years of software development experience
  • 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
