Job summary

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead platform bring-up programs across SoC partners and device launches. You will manage validation activities through Proto, EVT, DVT and PVT, while aligning milestones with the internal Product Development Process (PDP).

You will collaborate with SoC vendors, ODMs, and internal Hardware, Software, and Firmware teams to drive device strategy and mitigate risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of program management experience.
  • Experience managing the full product development life-cycle for consumer electronics (e.g., laptops, phones, tablets).
  • Experience working with System-on-Chip (SoC) vendors and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs).
  • Experience with hardware/software integration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new platform bring-up programs from early SoC partner engagement through device launch, overseeing validation activities for Proto/EVT/DVT/PVT.
  • Define and track comprehensive program schedules, milestones, and dependencies aligned with PDP.
  • Collaborate with external SoC vendors and ODMs while coordinating internal Hardware, Software, and Firmware teams.
  • Identify technical risks and manage escalations, providing status reports to executives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for platform bring-up methodologies and tools.

  • Experience performing root-cause and failure analysis to troubleshoot complex hardware, software, or firmware integration issues during platform bring-up.
  • Experience managing programs using a structured Product Development Process (PDP) for computing devices.
  • Minimum qualifications:

    • 5 years of experience in program management.

Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

    Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

    US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

    • Collaborate with external SoC vendors and ODMs while facilitating technical alignment among internal Hardware, Software, and Firmware teams to drive device strategy.
    • Identify technical risks and manage escalations, providing transparent status reports and mitigation plans to executive stakeholders and leadership.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for platform bring-up methodologies, tools, and best practices to optimize team efficiency and technical decision-making.
