Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Program Manager based in the United States.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives from initial scoping through successful launch.
You will work at the intersection of data engineering, application development, and infrastructure, ensuring teams stay aligned and delivery remains on track.
Your role will be central to translating product strategies into actionable plans, managing dependencies, and resolving technical and operational roadblocks.
You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to drive execution while maintaining visibility into progress, priorities, and risks.
Combining technical fluency with strong program management expertise, you will help teams navigate ambiguity and deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
This fully remote opportunity offers the chance to shape delivery practices within a growing Digital, Data, and AI environment.
You will have the autonomy to improve processes, strengthen collaboration, and accelerate innovation across multiple engineering disciplines.

Accountabilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex technical initiatives, from initial planning and scoping through execution, release coordination, and launch.
  • Coordinate cross-functional engineering teams spanning data engineering, web and mobile application development, and infrastructure to ensure effective collaboration and timely delivery.
  • Partner with product managers to translate product strategies and roadmaps into executable delivery plans, establishing clear milestones, sequencing, dependencies, ownership, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead application-focused initiatives, including web and mobile feature releases, API integrations, and service deployments, ensuring realistic timelines and coordinated releases across frontend, backend, and mobile workstreams.
  • Drive progress in situations involving competing priorities or ambiguity by identifying blockers, presenting clear options, recommending solutions, and assigning accountable owners to decisions.
  • Monitor program risks, dependencies, delivery milestones, and opportunities for improvement, proactively addressing issues that could affect timelines, quality, or business outcomes.
  • Manage the delivery operating framework using Linear or comparable project management tools, maintaining sprint plans, dependency tracking, RACI assignments, and status reporting as a reliable source of truth across teams.
  • Coordinate data-intensive initiatives by overseeing data readiness, pipeline and integration dependencies, data quality considerations, and alignment between data delivery and application requirements.
  • Evaluate technical estimates and delivery plans by applying a practical understanding of application architecture, APIs, scalability, technical debt, and infrastructure dependencies.
  • Establish and improve program management processes where existing frameworks are limited, promoting operational simplicity, productivity, consistency, and accountability.
  • Communicate program progress, risks, decisions, and delivery expectations clearly to engineering teams, product leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Adapt quickly to unfamiliar technologies and technical domains to maintain effective oversight and ensure initiatives move forward efficiently.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, complex technical programs or initiatives within product development and software engineering, with clear evidence of personally owning and influencing delivery outcomes.
  • Proven experience coordinating delivery across multiple engineering disciplines, including data engineering, application or product engineering for web and/or mobile, and infrastructure within the same initiative.
  • Strong technical understanding of data systems, including the ability to interpret data models, understand pipelines and integration dependencies, assess data quality, and identify data readiness risks.
  • Practical knowledge of application development and architecture, including system architecture diagrams, client-server interactions, API dependencies, technical debt, scalability trade-offs, and release readiness.
  • Strong program and project management skills, including delivery planning, dependency management, risk assessment, stakeholder coordination, prioritization, and execution tracking.
  • Experience establishing processes and delivery frameworks in environments where structure is limited, with the ability to turn ambiguous challenges into clear plans and actionable solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, sprint planning, and cross-functional delivery practices, along with experience using Linear, Jira, Asana, or similar project management platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail and the capacity to prioritize critical issues while maintaining a broader view of program objectives.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and unfamiliar technical domains quickly, ask informed questions, challenge engineering estimates constructively, and identify delivery risks across different workstreams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information clearly and influence stakeholders across technical and business teams.
  • A proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable working style, with strong ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively across teams with different priorities and working cadences.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement, accountability, and delivering high-quality outcomes.
Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary: $115,000-$140,000, depending on experience, skills, geographic location, and business requirements.
  • Performance-based compensation: Eligibility for a quarterly or annual bonus program based on individual and company performance.
  • Fully remote work: Work remotely from anywhere in the United States, except Alaska.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage: Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, with low or no employee medical premiums for basic employee-only coverage and additional discounts after three and five years of service.
  • Generous paid time off: Starting allocation of 15 vacation days, 4 personal days, 10 sick days, and 11 paid holidays annually.
  • Additional vacation benefits: Increased vacation accrual with tenure and a birthday day off after one year of service.
  • Retirement savings: A 401(k) plan with company matching of up to 6% of eligible pay after six months of service.
  • Paid parental leave: Support for employees welcoming a child into their family.
  • Fertility benefits: Lifetime fertility benefit reimbursement of up to $10,000, including adoption and surrogacy.
  • Long-term service recognition: A six-week paid sabbatical after ten years of service and every five years thereafter.
  • Additional insurance and support: Access to an Employee Assistance Program, critical illness coverage, accident insurance, hospital indemnity coverage, pet insurance, and legal plans.
  • Charitable giving programs: Opportunities to participate in charitable initiatives and access related benefits.
  • Professional growth: Opportunities to develop technical program management expertise, improve delivery practices, and collaborate across data, digital, AI, and infrastructure initiatives.
