The New York Times Company is seeking a Technical Product Manager II for the Data Platforms Compute and Storage team in New York. This hybrid role onsite 3+ days weekly reports to the Technical Product Director of Data Platforms.

You will partner with engineering, analytics, and ML to deliver scalable data infrastructure and reusable data products for diverse workloads. You will own strategy for compute/storage, translate user needs into outcomes, mentor cross-functional teams, and drive

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience developing technical products as a product manager or in an equivalent role.
• Experience partnering with engineering teams and platform users to deliver data and cloud infrastructure products.
• Ability to use data and structured reasoning to drive product decisions and measurable outcomes.
• Understanding of data infrastructure concepts: pipelines, compute, storage, data modeling, governance.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy for shared compute and storage capabilities, including engines, streaming, orchestration, lakehouse storage, and connective infrastructure.
• Translate user workflows into outcomes, requirements, and clear priorities.
• Scope initiatives with engineering leaders, define milestones, manage dependencies and risks.
• Deliver self-service capabilities to publish and operate data products with reusable solutions.
• Communicate roadmap progress, risks, and tradeoffs to stakeholders.
• Guide lifecycle practices from discovery through launch, adoption, and feedback; support migrations and deprecations.
