Job summary

The New York Times is seeking a senior Analytics Data Products leader in New York City to guide an enablement team within the Data Platform mission. The role focuses on onboarding workflows, developer experience, and data lifecycle standards across product engineering teams.

You will report to the Senior Director of Data Platform and work in a hybrid mode, coming into the NYC headquarters 3+ days per week to drive roadmap execution and architectural decisions that support journalistic

Qualifications

• 1+ years of formal people management experience
• 4+ years building and supporting production data pipelines
• Experience enabling successful collaborations across engineering teams
• Strong SQL skills and knowledge of Python, Java, or Go

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering collaboration and high productivity
• Own developer experience and tooling (onboarding, CLI, templates, validation, automation) and define success metrics
• Oversee roadmap execution, architectural guidance, and technical decisions
• Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts and a cost attribution model for cloud solutions
• Partner with product managers and stakeholders to define requirements and manage change while retiring legacy systems
• Demonstrate commitment to journalistic independence and mission
