Job summary

Fortra is seeking an AI Product Manager to lead the development and launch of AI-powered software products. You will drive market analysis, strategy, planning, and delivery while collaborating with engineering, data science, design, security, and legal teams to ensure responsible AI outcomes.

You will conduct market research, customer interviews, and usability studies to identify high-value AI use cases, define workflows, and shape roadmaps with measurable success criteria and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical, business, or related field, or equivalent professional training or certificate.
• 5-10 years of product management, software development, data, or AI/ML product experience in an enterprise software company.
• Working knowledge of AI/ML and generative AI concepts, including model capabilities, limitations, evaluation, and data considerations.
• Strong problem-solving skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain AI concepts clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Ability to effectively interfacing with customers and translate customer needs into actionable AI product requirements.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams that include engineering, data science or machine learning, design, security, legal, product, sales, and marketing staff

Responsibilities

• Analyze AI market trends and assess opportunities and risks.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of AI products and analyze capabilities, model approaches, data practices, strengths and limitations.
• Identify high-value AI use cases through market research, customer interviews, and usability studies.
• Evaluate data, model, platform, security, and partner capabilities to determine the best path to deliver an AI solution (build, buy, or partner).
• Define priority user workflows and translate validated problems into clear product requirements, including AI behavior and data needs.
• Define and manage AI product roadmaps balancing customer value, feasibility, and responsible AI considerations.
• Establish success metrics and evaluation plans for AI experiences (quality, adoption, reliability, safety, impact).
• Collaborate with engineering, data science, design, security, and legal teams to deliver AI products on time and with quality.
• Lead customer pilots, beta tests, and launches; train Sales and Partners on AI use cases and responsible-use guidance.
• Provide market and solution guidance to Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Technical Support content planning.

We are seeking a strategic and driven AI Product Manager to join our team at Fortra. This role combines market, customer, and technical leadership to define, build, and launch AI-powered software products. Primary responsibilities include AI market analysis, product strategy, product planning, responsible AI delivery, product release and launch.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Market Analysis

• AI Trend Analysis, monitoring advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, agentic workflows, and the evolving regulatory landscape to identify opportunities and risks


• Develop hands-on, in-depth knowledge of AI products and maintain analysis of their capabilities, model approaches, data practices, strengths, and limitations

Product Strategy

• Conduct market research, customer interviews, and usability studies to identify high-value AI use cases and unmet needs across target segments


• Evaluate data, model, platform, security, and partner capabilities to determine the most effective path to deliver an AI solution (build, buy, or partner)

Product Planning

• Define priority user workflows and translate validated problems into clear product requirements, including AI behavior, data needs, quality expectations, and human-in-the-loop experiences


• Define and manage AI product roadmaps, balancing customer value, technical feasibility, and responsible AI considerations


• Establish success metrics and evaluation plans for AI experiences, including quality, adoption, reliability, safety, and business impact


• Partner with engineering, data science, design, security, and legal teams to drive AI product development to on-time, high-quality completion

Product Release & Launch

• Lead and support customer pilots, beta testing, and launch readiness for AI-powered products and features. Document feedback, monitor quality and safety signals, and recommend improvements


• Train Sales and Partners on AI product use cases, capabilities, limitations, and responsible-use guidance

Subject Matter Expert

• Provide market, solution, and responsible AI guidance to support Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Technical Support content planning

• Other duties as assigned
