About the Opportunity

Shields Group Search is partnering with a New York City-based technology company to hire a Technical Product Manager to join its growing team.

Our client operates a corporate access platform used by investment banks, offering CRM, email, event management, client portals, reporting, and AI-powered features, including intelligent meeting allocation.

This is an opportunity to join an early-stage product organization as its second product hire, working closely with the existing Product Lead and reporting directly to the CEO.

The Technical Product Manager will play a critical role in bridging product strategy, engineering, and customer implementations. This individual will serve as an early technical checkpoint when defining project scope and become the primary technical product voice throughout customer implementations.

The role combines hands-on ownership of customer implementations with broader product development responsibilities. When implementation demands are lighter, this individual will contribute to core platform improvements, new features, architecture decisions, and technical initiatives.

You’ll collaborate closely with Design, QA, and Engineering to ensure product initiatives are technically sound, thoughtfully scoped, and successfully delivered.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Implementations & Technical Leadership
  • Serve as the technical product voice and single point of contact during customer implementation conversations, owning those relationships and prioritizing the work.
  • Lead technical implementation efforts, ensuring customer requirements are understood, appropriately scoped, and successfully delivered.
  • Scope and coordinate integrations and rollouts involving APIs, CRM systems, email platforms, single sign-on (SSO), and data migrations.
  • Identify recurring customer needs and translate them into reusable, scalable, self-service platform capabilities.
  • Partner closely with the Product Lead to pressure-test project scope early, identifying technical complexities before work reaches Design and Engineering.
  • Help define the product roadmap and own features throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial definition through launch.
  • Contribute to core platform development, feature enhancements, architecture discussions, and broader technical initiatives when implementation demands allow.
Technical Product Execution
  • Write detailed technical specifications addressing dependencies, edge cases, data requirements, and integration impacts.
  • Engage the appropriate engineering, design, and QA stakeholders early to ensure initiatives are properly defined and ready for development.
  • Bridge technical and business requirements to ensure strong alignment between customer needs and platform capabilities.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of product management experience, including demonstrated success shipping features and bringing products to market.
  • Strong technical background, ideally involving APIs, integrations, or data-heavy products.
  • Ability to evaluate technical complexity, assess dependencies, and effectively communicate requirements to engineering teams.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to take technical products and features from concept through delivery.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills, particularly in customer-facing technical discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or prior hands-on engineering experience.
  • Experience managing enterprise implementations or complex data migrations.
  • Background in financial services or financial technology.
  • Familiarity with agentic workflows and AI-driven product capabilities.
  • A collaborative, mission-driven mindset with a genuine curiosity for understanding broader business and technical context.
  • Someone who asks thoughtful questions, seeks context, and prioritizes collective team success.
Why This Opportunity?
  • High-impact role: Join as the second member of the product team, with meaningful ownership and influence over product direction.
  • Direct leadership exposure: Report to the CEO and collaborate closely with the Product Lead.
  • Technical ownership: Work across customer implementations, platform architecture, integrations, and new feature development.
  • Innovative technology: Help build a platform incorporating AI-powered capabilities for financial institutions.
  • Competitive compensation: $140K-$180K base salary plus equity.
  • Collaborative environment: Work in person with a team spanning Product, Engineering, Design, and QA.
  • Location: New York City, NY
  • Work Arrangement: In-person
  • Compensation: $150,000-$180,000 base salary + equity
  • Visa Sponsorship: Sponsorship is generally not anticipated

You're a technically strong Product Manager who enjoys owning complex implementations, shipping impactful features, and helping shape a growing product organization, we'd love to connect.
