Job summary

Jobtailor in Boston, MA is seeking a technically skilled field service engineer to support installation, configuration, validation, and deployment of Volta systems at customer sites. Travel 35–50% domestically with occasional international trips; requires a BS in Biomedical/Electrical fields and 3+ years'

Job description

  • Support the installation, configuration, validation, and deployment of Volta systems at customer sites
  • Provide remote and onsite technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for customer escalations and system performance concerns
  • Coordinate corrective actions, repairs, and equipment servicing activities
  • Identify, document, and elevate product complaints and quality issues to Quality Assurance
  • Work with R&D on complex issue investigations and support new software releases and product improvements
  • Collaborate with physicians, EP lab staff, hospital personnel, Sales, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and R&D teams
  • Coordinate distribution, removal, return, replacement, and domestic/international shipment of systems and accessories
  • Maintain product traceability, inventory and asset tracking in the ERP
  • Manage US inventory levels, support inventory audits, and ensure inventory accuracy
  • Complete and maintain installation, maintenance, RMA, service, inventory, and customer documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Serve as liaison between customers and internal teams, provide field feedback, and drive continuous improvement
  • Support complaint investigations, technical escalations, and corrective actions
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Healthcare Technology, Life Sciences, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience providing technical support, field service, and customer-facing support for cardiac medical device technologies in hospital environments; electrophysiology experience preferred
  • Proficiency diagnosing and resolving complex issues across electromechanical, software-controlled, and PC-based systems
  • Experience working directly with physicians, EP lab staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems, including ISO 13485, FDA Quality System Regulation (QSR/QMSR), and applicable medical device regulatory requirements
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently in the field
  • Strong understanding of electronic systems and healthcare technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first mindset
  • Ability to build relationships with physicians, clinicians, hospital stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to balance field service responsibilities with operational and administrative requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with minimal supervision
  • Experience coordinating customer deployments, equipment logistics, or inventory management preferred
  • Understanding of inventory control, asset traceability, and logistics processes preferred; ERP experience a plus
  • Approximately 35-50% travel, including occasional international travel
