  • Knowledge of pigments, additives, and resin chemistries
  • Proven experience leading chemists or technical laboratory staff
  • Proven experience leading laboratory to production scale up
  • Experience directing customer trials and resolving field technical issues
  • Demonstrated success translating customer requirements into commercial products
  • Strong technical problem solving and decision making capabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, sales teams, manufacturing teams, and internal stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary technical resource for customers and provide technical guidance for existing and prospective customer applications
  • Lead customer trials and oversee technical execution through successful commercialization
  • Direct formulation, testing, optimization, and validation of gravure and flexographic ink systems
  • Work with solvent based, water based, UV/EB, digital, and related ink technologies
  • Lead laboratory personnel supporting customer trials, product development, and manufacturing
  • Translate customer requirements into reliable and commercially viable ink and coating solutions
  • Lead laboratory to production scale up activities
  • Troubleshoot complex formulation, processing, and manufacturing challenges
  • Evaluate and qualify raw materials including pigments, additives, and resin chemistries
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Production, suppliers, and other internal teams
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives involving efficiency, cost reduction, waste reduction, and product reliability
  • Support laboratory safety, regulatory compliance, technical documentation, and change control
  • Contribute technical expertise to product development strategy and long term technology planning

Technical Manager, Printing Inks and Coatings

Area: Greater Atlanta GA area

Job type: Direct Hire Opportunity

Pay: $115K-$140K

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager, Printing Inks and Coatings to provide technical leadership within a specialized printing inks operation. This position combines hands on formulation expertise, laboratory leadership, customer technical support, product development, and commercialization.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in gravure inks or industrial printing technologies and a strong background developing and commercializing ink and coating formulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary technical resource for customers and provide technical guidance for existing and prospective customer applications

  • Strong understanding of printing technology
  • Strong knowledge of pigments, additives, and resin chemistries
