Job summary

Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom is seeking a Technical Manager to lead the Liquid Ink Division's technical operations in the U.S. You will oversee product development, customer support, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering with customers, suppliers, sales, and internal teams to deliver innovative ink solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in liquid ink technology or a related technical role in the liquid ink industry.
  • Strong knowledge of liquid ink systems, raw materials, and applications in the flexible packaging industry.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a hands-on technical environment.
  • Experience providing technical service and support to flexible packaging customers.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical development and day-to-day activities of the Liquid Ink Division.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ink-related technical issues.
  • Partner with the Sales team to support existing customers and secure new business opportunities.
  • Develop and expand technical service capabilities to support growth in the U.S. flexible packaging market.
  • Lead application development and recommend product improvements to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives across products and processes.
  • Manage departmental budgets, control expenses, and minimize overtime.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment, facilities, and manufacturing processes.
  • Hire, mentor, coach, and develop technical staff to build a high-performing team.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Address employee relations matters and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, and objectives are effectively implemented.
  • Prepare and present monthly departmental reports to the General Manager.
