Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in the metal and glass industry, focused on custom and design-intent projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Bluebeam for detailing and plan review.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SketchUp, Revit, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of shop drawings, architectural plans, and glass or metal fabrication methodologies.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to coordinate across teams, vendors, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical and drafting department by setting priorities and high-quality standards for all drawings.
• Coordinate complex design-assist and shop drawings from concept to final approval for fabrication.
• Generate innovative 2D and 3D concepts to resolve on-site constructability challenges for glass and metal systems.

As the Technical Manager, you will serve as the premier design and drafting authority for high-profile commercial glazing and ornamental metal projects across New York City. You will lead an elite in-house technical department, transforming complex architectural visions into buildable, code-compliant solutions. How You Will Make An Impact

• Lead the technical and drafting department by setting clear priorities and high-quality standards for all drawing deliverables.
• Coordinate complex design-assist and shop drawings from initial concept through final approval to ensure seamless fabrication.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the metal and glass industry, specifically focused on custom and design-intent projects.
• Proven proficiency in using AutoCAD and Bluebeam for detailing and plan review.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SketchUp, Revit, or equivalent applications.
• Strong understanding of shop drawings, architectural plans, and glass or metal fabrication methodologies.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills required to coordinate effectively across internal teams, vendors, and clients.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Prior experience successfully leading or coordinating a technical, drafting, or design team.
• Associate degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field of study.
