Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in the metal and glass industry, focused on custom and design-intent projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Bluebeam for detailing and plan review.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SketchUp, Revit, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of shop drawings, architectural plans, and glass or metal fabrication methodologies.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to coordinate across teams, vendors, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical and drafting department by setting priorities and high-quality standards for all drawings.
• Coordinate complex design-assist and shop drawings from concept to final approval for fabrication.
• Generate innovative 2D and 3D concepts to resolve on-site constructability challenges for glass and metal systems.
• Review architectural plans to identify conflicts early and provide proactive design solutions.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Estimators to verify scope, takeoffs, and feasibility.
• Maintain robust 3D models to support client presentations, fabrication, and installation planning.
• Mentor drafting staff to ensure quality, timely turnaround, and professional development.
