Job summary

VOLTO Consulting is looking for a Technical Manager who can lead enterprise applications as a generalist, guiding architecture and delivery across a diverse application landscape. This role emphasizes translating technical concepts into business terms and aligning technology with business strategy.

You will mentor teams, partner with IT and business stakeholders, and drive solutions with a focus on reducing technical debt while enabling scalable, maintainable systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in application development, systems integration, or enterprise technology environments.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams across multiple systems or platforms.
  • Strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and business domains.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
  • Strong understanding of how business processes drive technical requirements and decisions.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Self-motivated and effective in remote or distributed team environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical input into requirements, architecture decisions, and backlog prioritization.
  • Evaluate trade-offs, risks, and impacts across systems and integrations.
  • Drive decisions that minimize technical debt while maximizing long-term value.

  • Ensure vendor partners and contract resources deliver against expectations and standards.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Support development and maintenance of technical documentation, runbooks, and support models.
  • Lead root cause analysis and drive resolution of complex issues.
  • Ensure enhancements, fixes, and integrations are properly tested and validated.
  • Support UAT cycles and production readiness activities.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and waste reduction.
  • Contribute to process roadmaps and modernization efforts.
  • Promote Agile delivery practices and iterative improvement.

Overview

We are seeking a Technical Manager who can effectively lead technical initiatives across a diverse application landscape without requiring deep specialization in any single platform. This individual will serve as a technical generalist and strategic leader quickly ramping up on new systems, guiding technical teams, and ensuring solutions align with business objectives.

This role requires a strong balance of technical leadership, business acumen, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business terms and influence decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead and coordinate technical work across multiple systems, applications, and integrations
