One of our clients is looking for a hands-on technology leader to own and grow its enterprise application landscape. This is a chance to lead a talented team of developers and engineers, shape application strategy across the organization, and act as a trusted partner to business leaders. You'll report directly to the VP of Information Technology.
What You'll Be Doing
Building and Leading the Team
- Recruit, onboard, mentor, and grow a team of 4–8 developers and engineers
- Set clear goals, hold regular one-on-ones, and give timely, constructive performance feedback
- Build a team culture rooted in ownership, inclusion, and ongoing learning
- Resolve team conflicts, balance workloads, and keep everyone focused on what matters most
Driving Application Strategy and Delivery
- Lead the design, selection, configuration, and upkeep of business applications that improve efficiency and give the business a competitive edge
- Define a long-term application architecture that meets business needs and scales with the organization
- Evaluate build vs. buy decisions, bring in new research and technologies, and create reusable designs the team can build on
- Spot risk areas in complex systems early and ensure smooth integration between connected platforms
- Make sure the team delivers realistic estimates, sets priorities, and makes smart trade-offs as needs change
- Champion fresh approaches that raise quality, productivity, and responsiveness
Operations, Budget and Vendors
- Own team budgets, headcount, workflows, and KPIs, and report performance to senior leadership
- Identify process gaps and roll out scalable improvements
- Manage software vendor relationships end to end, from sourcing and negotiation to contracts, support, and professional services
Partnership and Compliance
- Work closely with HR, Finance, Procurement, Operations, and other teams to align priorities and clear roadblocks
- Serve as the go-to contact for internal stakeholders and external vendors on business applications
- Represent the team in cross-functional initiatives and leadership discussions
- Keep the team aligned with internal policies and frameworks such as SOC 2 Type II and ISO standards, and support audits and reporting as needed
What You Bring
- 8+ years of experience designing and supporting business applications in operations-intensive environments
- 2+ years of people management experience with a track record of measurable results
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into clear action plans
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Sciences or an equivalent mix of education and experience
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience implementing or managing ERP, MRP, WMS, TMS, VMS, CRM, SCM, OMS, or OT systems
- Familiarity with the Microsoft stack, including .NET, SQL Server, Windows Server, and cloud deployments
This role is largely office-based under a hybrid model, with occasional travel to other company sites.
