Job summary
The Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) in New York City seeks a Technical Lead in Web Content Management Systems to deliver mission-critical city information. Lead architecture for AEM solutions, mentor developers, and drive DevOps improvements across WCMS platforms including OpenText and WordPress.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced technologist role in a public sector environment. Ideal candidates have extensive WCMS experience, strong Java skills, and a track record of architecting
Qualifications
- Master's degree in computer science with at least 3 years in IT leadership or management.
- Ability to lead architecture for AEM and WCMS projects.
- Strong experience with Java, APIs, and cloud-based content platforms.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and engineering oversight for the architecture, development, and delivery of AEM solutions.
- Partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into reusable templates and services.
- Drive engineering excellence by enforcing coding standards, practices, and reviews.
- Lead DevOps to automate WCMS deployment, reliability, and efficiency.
- Mentor team members and foster ownership, collaboration, and accountability.
- Own technical designs and runbooks to support reliability and long-term institutional knowledge.
