Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Technical Lead for US Naval Controls and Electrical in Indianapolis, IN. This role will directly report to the Chief Engineer and lead controls engineers across multiple experience levels to meet US Naval engineering objectives in a fast-paced, agile environment.

You will drive robust program delivery, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate with ET&S, program management, and other stakeholders to translate customer requirements into actionable work packages.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
  • JD or PhD in Engineering.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident required.
  • Up-to-date engineering expertise in the relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Engineer and US Naval Leadership in ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies.
  • Translate customer technical requirements into ET&S work packages and lead a cross-functional team.
  • Identify and develop engineering skills and capacity within the division; support workforce planning.
  • Integrate team load into the program resource balance and ensure right-first-time delivery within budget.
  • Manage scope for development and field activities, including verification, certification, and qualification strategies.
  • Line-manage the team in alignment with divisional policies and performance management.
