Job summary

Ambience is hiring a Technical Lead Manager of Product Engineering to lead and scale core engineering teams as we build the AI platform for healthcare. You will grow the team from 5 to 10+ engineers, create high-functioning pods around product domains, and deliver features impacting clinician efficiency and patient outcomes.

You will report to the Head of Engineering and partner with PM, Design, and Clinical teams to translate ambitious ideas into scalable, maintainable systems that end users

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineers.
• Built and scaled distributed systems in SaaS environments.
• Experience shipping backend and full-stack features.
• Product-oriented; collaborate with PM and Design to deliver user outcomes.
• Execution-focused; align teams, debug processes, accelerate throughput.
• Culture shaper; foster inclusive, feedback-driven teams with ownership.
• Mission-aligned with Ambience's AI healthcare platform vision.

Responsibilities

• Grow and shape a high-performing engineering group by hiring, onboarding, and developing strong ICs.
• Design for speed and autonomy with clear team charters, rituals, and scopes of responsibility.
• Ship major customer-facing initiatives that expand Ambience's enterprise footprint with quality and performance.
• Coach and grow engineering managers; create pathways for career growth and feedback culture.
• Set engineering standards: architecture, code quality, release reliability, data integrity.
• Partner cross-functionally with PM, Design, and Clinical SMEs across the product lifecycle.
• Lead through ambiguity; translate business goals into actionable plans and deliver results.
