Job summary

James Search Group is seeking a hands-on Technical Lead - Full Stack Engineering for a hybrid role in Manhattan, New York or Atlanta, GA, guiding the delivery of modern insurance applications. You will own architecture, mentor engineering teams, and drive CI/CD, DevOps, and scalable solutions.

Collaboration with product and business stakeholders is essential to translate requirements into impactful technical outcomes for underwriting, claims, and billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8–10+ years of software engineering experience with strong full stack development.
• Proven experience leading delivery of complex, enterprise-scale applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with modern tech stacks, including back-end (.NET, Node.js) and front-end (React, Angular, Vue).
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• APIs and microservices architecture.
• Relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience designing scalable application and integration architectures.
• Strong understanding of Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of full stack applications from requirements through deployment and support.
• Design scalable, secure, and reusable solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
• Hands-on technical leadership with coding, design reviews, and problem solving.
• Mentor engineering teams and promote best practices in code quality and performance.
• Partner with product, business, and tech stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions.
• Drive delivery planning, estimation, sprint execution, and release management.
• Champion CI/CD and DevOps practices across the team.
• Identify and resolve technical and delivery risks proactively.
• Apply insurance domain knowledge to align solutions with P&C workflows and regulations.
