Job summary

Air Space Intelligence, Inc. is seeking a Technical Lead for the Civil Aviation team to define the architectural foundations of a backend system that will operate at the center of U.S. air travel for the next decade and beyond.

You will guide data fusion across radar, flight plans, weather, and operator inputs to create a single authoritative view and enable optimization under complex constraints. You will set design principles to keep complexity manageable, own end-to-end system delivery, and

Qualifications

• Experience building production-grade backend or distributed systems with strong design.
• Experience with real-time data pipelines and low-latency constraints.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language; Rust and Python foundations preferred.
• Experience with data integration, storage, processing, and data modeling.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience leading engineering teams (approx. 3–8 engineers).
• Ability to own systems end-to-end from design through production operation.
• Track record of setting technical direction and driving execution across projects.
• Strong collaboration skills across mission-critical environments.
• Exposure to high-availability systems (four nines) is a plus.
• Proficiency with modern LLM tools to accelerate development workflows.
• Domain experience in aviation, mapping, or geospatial data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural foundations of a backend system for national air travel infrastructure.
• Lead data fusion at operational scale, ingesting radar, flight plans, weather, and more to a single authoritative view.
• Set design principles with strict module boundaries and clear interfaces.
• Lead a small team of engineers from design through delivery, collaborating with product and platform teams.
