Job summary

Air space Intelligence, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer for the Civil Aviation team to design and build a backend system that will serve as the core platform for U.S. air travel for the coming decade.

You will fuse data from radar, flight plans, weather, and operator inputs into a single authoritative view, reason about uncertainty, and ensure the system remains maintainable, scalable, and highly available in a mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

• Experience building production-grade backend or distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Rust and Python.
• Experience with data integration, data storage, data processing, and data modeling.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
• Exposure to high-availability systems (e.g., four nines).
• Ability to work in complex, multi-system environments with evolving data models.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a backend system that will operate at the center of U.S. air travel for the next decade and beyond.
• Fuse disparate data streams (radar, flight plans, weather, operator inputs) into a single authoritative view.
• Model uncertainty and data provenance; build systems that degrade gracefully when inputs are incomplete or wrong.
